Early in Dan’s career, after studying art and sculpture at a local college, he spent several years crafting Gaudi style mosaic projects. Using old Malibu tiles made in the 1920s, he designed entryways for a number of buildings in the Malibu and Santa Monica area.
He began mixing his tile mosaic with stonework. Moving to Northern California, the mosaics evolved into natural stone, shapes, color, and much heavier material. Both forms being a pattern language.
